The Gift of Rest (Winter 2022)

We received a last minute request from our host pastor prior to a recent trip to Cuba. He asked if the wives could be included on a leadership retreat in Havana to address the challenges of balancing marriage, family and ministry. Our FirstChurch team was happy to make the adjustment, and refocused our preparation to provide a two day rest retreat for couples. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and lively discussions between the couples and also provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships between the pastors. 

God’s commission to our ministry in 2011 was to “go and serve His church in Cuba,” and while marriage has not been our focus, we are now being asked to serve the pastors in this area. We covet your prayers and financial support as we pivot our resources to come alongside their vision of restoring the family in Cuba.
